Sailing

Te Pākeka / Maud Island, Marlborough Sounds

Sailing to the Marlborough Sounds is always an adventure! During this trip we holed up in the small marina at Havelock for a couple of nights waiting for some wild weather to pass through. We woke up to a damp and foggy morning, and watched these islands and headlands emerge from the fog as we sailed back up Pelorus Sound.

Abel Headland

This painting reminds me of time spent at a little bay just north of the Anchorage in the Abel Tasman. A perfect spot for swimming, and we had it all to ourselves. I spent an hour watching clouds drift across this headland. One of those perfect summer holidays!
